L.O.T. Ministries: Serving Faith, Hope & Love to Rikers Island
L.O.T. Ministries, an acronym inspired by Matthew 25:40 in the Bible, stands for “Least of These.” This new program provides Christian church services to the inmates incarcerated at Rikers Island and other New York jails on a weekly basis. Guided by the biblical call to care for the downtrodden among us, L.O.T. Ministries aim to bring hope, spiritual nourishment, and a sense of community to those who are often forgotten.
Our mission is to deliver compassionate and transformative ministry, ensuring that every person, regardless of their circumstances, can experience the love and grace of GOD. Each week, our dedicated team of pastors and volunteers will conduct services that include worship, prayer, and messages of hope and redemption. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ, we seek to uplift the lives of those often overlooked by society. Our clergy members are committed to delivering inspirational sermons, engaging worship, and personal spiritual guidance to help inmates find purpose and solace during their time of incarceration.
By offering a consistent and nurturing presence, we believe we are planting the seeds of faith that precede personal growth and positive change. Through our efforts, we aspire to create a ripple effect of kindness and rehabilitation, helping inmates reconnect with their faith, rebuild their lives, and reintegrate into society with renewed hope and resilience. L.O.T. Ministries stand as a testament to the power of faith and the enduring message of Christ’s love for all, especially the least of these.
L.O.T. Ministries is committed to:
- Spiritual Support: Offering weekly Christian services to uplift and support inmates, providing them with a source of hope and encouragement.
- Community Building: Creating a sense of community and belonging among inmates, fostering an environment of mutual respect and support.
- Personal Transformation: Encouraging personal growth and transformation through faith-based teachings and guidance.
- Reintegration Preparation: Assisting inmates in their journey toward rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society by instilling values of love, forgiveness, and responsibility.
Through the power of faith and the message of Matthew 25:40, we are eager to touch the hearts of those behind bars, reminding them that they are not alone and that they are valued members of the broader community.
Biblical Authority for L.O.T. Ministries:
“Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, ‘Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was hungry, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.’ Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?’ And the King shall answer and say unto them, ‘Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.’” Book of Matthew 25:34-40 KJV
